For five straight days, visitors to Sibu will get to enjoy an international dance festival rooted in cultural history fused with creative movement, stunning choreography and stirring music.
That’s right, the Sibu International Dance Festival is back to entertain and inspire audiences for the seventh time from 21 until 25 August at the Sibu Civic Centre and the Ku Tien Memorial Park.
Witness the rich culture and heritage of various nations expressed through modern and traditional dance forms. Share the passion of youth dancers as they perfect their craft and present their fluid movements for you. Learn from professional and experienced dancers and performers on technique, trends and future of dance at the live conference, take part in their hands-on workshops, enjoy high-energy site-specific outdoor performances, and perhaps learn a new move or two.
Talks of personal experiences will be given by international professional dancers from Spain and Mexico, while workshops teaching dance techniques and movements will be presented by participants from India and the Philippines.
With both indoor and outdoor dance performances, even into the corner of every street, the three-day festival is sure to be a magnificent presentation of both art and technique. The festival has attracted international dance groups from Lithuania, Southern Thailand and Singapore in the past, and this year’s edition will be equally colourful with international participation from Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, the Philippines, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and the USA.
